Jeep Gladiator unrelated to post, but still awesome.

I’m having a pretty good day so far. Discovered that we’ll only owe $310 in taxes, which is awesome. We had a $5000 windfall last summer and I thought we’d end up owing a LOT more.

Right now I’m folding laundry while watching the Pro Bowl, and sipping some Johnnie Walker Green to help increase my tolerance of the Pro Bowl.

How is everyone?

I’ve cleaned the apartment and will be heading to the gym in half an hour or so. Then I’m gonna make meatloaf when I get home.

Currently drinking water, because hydration is important.

Ouch. I grazed a wooden tie once while making a turn in my old Hyundai Accent and it left a deep gouge in the bottom of the passenger side door. Totally my own dumb fault.

Working and checking Oppo while my 18 month old sleeps next to me. It’s been a hell of a week, and I’m thankful for a bit of quiet. I’m doing laundry, too - actually the stuff is sitting in the dryer, I’d better go get it...

TV is off, I can’t stomach the Pro Bowl. Jealous that you’re having a drink. Enjoy!

I’m the only sentient human that actually chooses to watch the Pro Bowl. I also will watch any sub league dumpster fires like the XFL, UFL, etc. But this year it’s raining and it’s really kinda boring. The whisky helps. Also, congrats on the little one!

days been okidori... watched daytona, called all me cats stupid and made a vegetarian curry abomination (cabbage tika masala.... was surprisingly good)(last weeks abomination was a mushroom madras... also surprisingly good )

and i shaved me beard off to make sure i still have a chin (i do.. yay)

Eh, I watch plenty of crap (ie golf) on TV, so I can’t knock it.

The real head-scratcher to me are those people that would go to Hawaii on vacation (when the game was there) and attend the Pro Bowl.

I’m curious to see the new XFL - I imagine it will be an entertaining dumpster fire.

Thanks! He’s a lot of fun and a lot of work too —we’re lucky he’s happy and healthy.

Or washer crapped out mid week, bought a new top loader Friday, got asked to work Sat & Sun, agreed since we just dropped $480, watching Daytona wasn’t going to change my life, but getting 13 hours OT and 5 hours DT will pay off washer.

Latter I’ll be at a relatives house for some cleaning sales party thing. My wife will go to that and I’ll have the kids in the basement with my cousin in-Law and I’ll probably toss back a few of these.

Thinking of allowing my kids to watch Star Wars for the first time. Cousin guy is really into it and maybe he can help explain what is happening to the kids. Kids are 5&7

This year it’s in Orlando. I don’t remember many of the Hawaii games getting rained on as much as this one. Also, Big Ben is terrible. I hope they pull him for Alex Smith soon.

I was watching the Pro Bowl until I realized that the NHL All-Star game is about to start. I think the NHL puts on a better meaningless game.

I took the Fiat 500 out on some errands, and then I came home and got sucked into the FP post about cars that people are embarrassed to buy. As the owner of both a Fiat 500 and an NA Miata, I don’t understand why everyone acts like a car being cute is such a bad thing. Fun fact: when someone calls your car cute, you can just say “Thanks! Yeah, it is cute.” instead of seeing it as some kind of attack on your masculinity. It just bothers me how many people said some form of “yeah, but if you bought a Fiat 500 you’d constantly have to defend it to your friends and coworkers.” No, you don’t have to do that. Just drive what you like.

Fortunately for me, my partner prefers me with a beard. Also I hate shaving, so that’s another bonus. But if shaving was guaranteed to get me some, I’d probably find a way to live with it.

I’ve been in a long term relationship for a while now so I don’t notice if someone flirts with me, but even when I was single I was pretty oblivious to when it was happening.

Maybe it’s age related. In my teens I might have been more worried about other people’s opinions, but now that I’m in my 30's I just don’t care. Both of my cars put a smile on my face.

I have to admit, I’m not much of a Star Wars fan. I mean it’s fine, but growing up in the early 80s I was way more into the first couple of Superman movies. Especially II.

Wine is such a huge world of different taste. You’re bound to find something you like a some point. I like my wine dry and red, and the drier and more red the better.

God damn I wish I had some JW Green. I’m just chugging back water since I’m still getting over a nasty cold (which I believe was a flu, now that I think about it) that I’ve had for a bit over a week. It looks like I’m on the tail end of it, but this sickness really kicked my ass for a full week.

I might just order some pizza since I still don’t feel quite like cooking, plus I don’t really have much to cook with in the apartment anyway.
